First of all, what is the IRIS system & ISO / TS 22163 system?
The IRIS-International Railway Industry Standard was developed by the European Railway Industry Association (UNIFE) and has received strong publicity and support from the four major system manufacturers (Bombardier, Siemens, Alstom, and AnsaldoBreda). IRIS is an extension of ISO9001 based on the international quality standard ISO9001. It is specific to the railway industry and is used to evaluate its management system. IRIS aims to improve the quality and reliability of its products by improving the entire supply chain. In response to the special requirements of the railway industry, it was issued and implemented by the European Railway Union on May 18, 2006. The international railway industry standard IRIS will be officially upgraded to the ISO standard ISO / TS 22163 in May 2017. It will replace the existing IRIS Rev02. The original IRIS Rev02 is valid until September 14, 2018.
