On July 8, China Railway Industry's first "New Era" air rail train was assembled and smoothly rolled off the assembly line.
The "New Era" includes three new-type rail vehicles, such as straddle, magnetic suspension and suspension. It is a new type of rail transit product built by China Railway Industry. It will provide customers with a package solution to explore rail transit and new urbanization and localities. A new model for the coordinated development of featured industries. The off-track air rail is the suspended monorail.
In terms of compartments, the "New Era" is smaller than the subway. The single-section carriage is only half the length of the subway, about 11 meters wide and 2.4 meters wide, 0.4 meters shorter than the subway.
Such a car can accommodate 80 to 90 people at the same time, the capacity is one-third of the subway car, each car uses 3 to 5 cars, a trip of 300 to 400 people.
After being put into use, the "New Era" has a top speed of 70 kilometers per hour and the bottom is 5 meters above the ground, which will not affect the normal operation of the road.
A test line of about 1 km in the Jiangxia production base of China Railway Science and Technology Co., Ltd. is under construction. It is expected that the "New Era" will be able to run in Wuhan during the year.
Advantages of airborne rail trains
What are the advantages of airborne rail trains? Ouyang Bohan, chief engineer of China Railway Science and Technology Group, and Wang Yinglin, dean of the China Railway Science and Technology New Track Research Institute, listed the points.
[Cheap] The cost of an airborne train is only one-fifth of the cost of the subway.
[Less of land occupation] It is only necessary to have a position of one meter square in the green belt of the urban road, and it is possible to establish a column, which greatly reduces the cost of urban demolition and does not squeeze the city road.
[Lower threshold] In 2018, the National Development and Reform Commission issued the "Opinions on Further Strengthening Urban Rail Transit Planning and Construction", which raised the threshold for the construction of the subway. For example, the government debt rate of the declared city in the past three years should not exceed 120%, the local general public budget should be more than 30 billion yuan, the regional GDP should be more than 300 billion yuan, and the urban resident population should be more than 3 million. The empty rail construction threshold is low, and the carrying capacity of more than 10,000 person-times per hour can basically meet the transportation needs of key cities with a resident population of 1 million to 3 million.
Air rail train safety
The train is running in the air 5-15 meters above the ground. Safety is the most concerned issue for passengers. The relevant personnel of China Railway Science and Technology have interpreted the related issues of air safety.
Will it suddenly fall during driving?
“The air rail is very safe, and the train bogie is wrapped in the lower open steel box beam. Compared with the traditional rail transit, there will be no derailment.” Chen Xuyang, a technician of the China Railway Science and Technology New Track Research Institute.
This is not enough. There is a safety cable in the middle of the bogie and the car body. Even if the bogie has an accident, the cable can protect the car and firmly grasp the car body to ensure that it will not fall.
"Our design fully considers overhaul and repairs in designated sections according to the mode of high-speed rail and subway, which can fully guarantee the safety of trains." Chen Xuyang said that after the train maintenance, the system will automatically detect and confirm the air-test run to ensure formal It is absolutely safe before operation.
What should I do if the train suddenly loses power while it is running?
"Don't worry, the car is equipped with a battery box, can automatically run in the power-off mode for 30 minutes, can run to the next stop, to ensure that passengers can safely get off." Chen Xuyang said.
Can passengers rescue the escape quickly?
“Yes.” Originally, the train was designed in a horizontal, vertical, and vertical multi-directional rescue mode.
Later, the rescue vehicle comes from the other side of the track. After being completely parallel, the door is opened and the pedals with more than 2 meters and armrests are automatically extended to allow the passengers to quickly transfer.
Longitudinal means that the rescue trains are coming from the same track, the two cars are docked, the front door of the cab is opened, and the passengers are quickly transferred from the accident vehicle to the rescue vehicle.
“The vertical rescue is that after the driver opens a circular cover with a diameter of 750 mm on the floor of the cab, a cylindrical slide will automatically pop out, and the passenger will escape along the slide.” Chen Xuyang introduced that this is an escape mode similar to airplane mode. The speed of the slide is 4 m / s, which can escape 25 people per minute. One car is calculated according to the highest peak of 90 people, and all can escape within 4 minutes. The train can remain ventilated while waiting for the rescue.
According to reports, China is the third country to master air-track technology after Germany and Japan. According to industry insiders, at present, Sichuan Leshan, Shaanxi Hanzhong and Hancheng have proposed the idea of building an empty track. At the beginning of last year, Qingdao built a suspended air track experimental line. With the diversification of rail transit construction models, it is expected that the air rail will soon be put into use in China.
