After China's carbon peak and carbon neutral goals were proposed, the explosive growth of renewable energy represented by wind power and photovoltaics is already close at hand.
Not long ago, more than 400 representatives of global wind energy companies jointly issued the "Wind Energy Beijing Declaration", and proposed: In order to achieve carbon peak and carbon neutral goals, China's annual wind power installed capacity should reach 50 million kilowatts during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period. During the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, 250 million kilowatts will be added, and 3 billion kilowatts of wind power will be developed by 2060.This means that offshore wind power will usher in new opportunities for development. As one of the important clean energy sources in my country, offshore wind power has the characteristics of large monomer scale and high annual utilization hours. Active development of offshore wind power has a significant effect on reducing carbon emissions and is an effective means to achieve my country’s carbon peak and carbon neutral goals .
However, according to previous policies, starting from 2022, the central government will no longer subsidize new offshore wind power projects. This has triggered a climax of offshore wind power construction and grid connection, followed by a shortage of supply and demand in the industry chain and scarce construction ship resources, which further pushed up the cost of offshore wind power projects.
This is not conducive to the healthy development of the industry. In fact, the development of offshore wind power in my country is relatively late, and there is still some distance from parity. If not handled properly, the current policies and market conditions may be a huge blow to China's offshore wind power, which is still in its infancy.
In the long run, my country’s huge amount of offshore wind power resources is an indispensable force for achieving my country’s carbon neutrality goal. Offshore wind power also urgently needs to reduce the cost of electricity per kilowatt-hour through large-scale development, technological innovation, and reduction of construction and operation costs, so as to help the early realization of my country's carbon neutral goal.
In order to solve the problems of the industrial chain and explore the path to achieve parity for offshore wind power, the offshore wind power branch of China Ocean Engineering Consulting Association, China Southern Power Grid Co., Ltd., China Huaneng Group Clean Energy Technology Research Institute Co., Ltd., China Three Gorges Group Co., Ltd., Xinjiang The "2020 China Offshore Wind Power Engineering Technology Conference" co-sponsored by Goldwind Technology Co., Ltd. and other units will be held from December 4 to 6, 2020 at the Kuntai Hotel in Wangjing, Beijing.
