On January 19, the Inter-Ministry Joint Conference on Energy Conservation and New Energy Automobile Industry Development clarified four key tasks for the development of the new energy automobile industry this year. Automobiles are an important application carrier of technological progress in the previous industrial revolutions. The development of new energy vehicles is a major strategic decision made by the Party Central Committee and the State Council.
Prior to this, the "Energy-saving and New Energy Automobile Industry Development Plan (2012-2020)" issued by the State Council played a vital leading role in promoting my country's new energy automobile industry from the cultivation period to the growth period.
As the first development plan for the "14th Five-Year Plan" and a longer period in my country's industrial sector, the "Plan" also provides a comprehensive and systematic plan for the development of my country's new energy automobile industry in the next 15 years.
According to data from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, in 2020, the production and sales of new energy vehicles in my country will be 1.366 million and 1.367 million respectively, representing a year-on-year increase of 7.5% and 10.9% respectively, and sales hit a record high.
According to Xu Haidong, deputy chief engineer of the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, new energy vehicles are expected to reach 1.8 million in 2021, an increase of 40% year-on-year.

This year is the first year of the "14th Five-Year Plan" and the start of the "Plan". The first step is to focus on four tasks.
First, it is necessary to enhance the independent controllability of the supply chain of the industrial chain, coordinate the promotion of shortcomings and forging longboards, and enhance the toughness and competitiveness of the industrial chain.
The second is to improve the infrastructure system, solve the problem of "difficulty entering the community" of charging piles, improve the level of interconnection, and improve the convenience of charging and product reliability.
Third, it is necessary to increase promotion and application, implement actions to promote the electrification of public vehicles, launch a new round of new energy vehicles to the countryside, and introduce more preferential policies for use links to further stimulate private consumption.
Finally, it is necessary to optimize the industrial development environment, study and formulate a road map for the implementation of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality in the automobile industry, strengthen project investment and production access management, resolutely curb blind investment, promote industrial concentration, and strengthen quality and safety supervision. Effectively improve the safety level of new energy vehicles.
After the release of the "Plan", Ye Shengji, deputy secretary-general of the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, said in an interview that new energy vehicles will inevitably have some flaws in the maturity of the industrial chain. Compared with traditional vehicles, product reliability and product cost performance are still outstanding. With a certain distance, there are also many areas for improvement in infrastructure and use environment.
