CGN Shanwei Houhu 500MW Offshore Wind Power Project
China Industry News learned that the Shanwei Houhu offshore wind power project site is located in the sea area south of Lufenghu East Town, Shanwei City, Guangdong Province. The center of the site is about 12 kilometers offshore and the water depth is 23 to 26 meters. A total of 91 5.5 MW wind turbines have been installed. , Of which 82 single-pile foundations, 8 four-pile jacket foundations, 1 suction tube jacket foundation, supporting the construction of two 220kV sea booster stations in the east and west areas and a land-based centralized control center.According to reports, the coastal waters of eastern Guangdong, where the Shanwei Houhu Offshore Wind Power Project is located, are one of the most complicated sea areas in China. The effective construction window for the whole year is less than 100 days, the geological conditions are complex and the construction is difficult. The project achieved the first batch of wind turbines connected to the grid on April 30 and completed the hoisting of 91 wind turbines on October 1st, and all units were connected to the grid for power generation on November 25.
It is worth noting that the project’s annual on-grid power can reach 1.489 billion kilowatt-hours. Compared with coal-fired power plants, it can save about 425,800 tons of standard coal consumption and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by replacing standard coal consumption of 315g/kW·h. 860,500 tons, 28.85 tons of smoke and dust, 713.30 tons of sulfur dioxide, 198.67 tons of nitrogen dioxide, 28,300 tons of ash, and significant economic and environmental benefits.
Since the national goal of “carbon peak and carbon neutrality” was put forward, China General Nuclear Power has actively responded to the national call, fully fulfilled the responsibilities of central enterprises, and strived to be the main force in the development and construction of offshore wind power in the country and the vanguard of the implementation of the national marine development strategy. The completion and commissioning of the Shanwei Houhu project is a concrete practice of CGN to implement the national "dual carbon" target and the offshore wind power strategy of Guangdong Province. Up to now, CGN has put into operation nearly 1 million kilowatts of offshore wind power in Guangdong, and has 1.15 million kilowatts of projects under construction.
