The new installed capacity in Central China was 10.64 million kilowatts, an increase of 70% over the same period of previous year, accounting for 20% of the national total. The newly installed capacity in the northwest region was 6.222 million kilowatts, down 36% from the same period of last year. The development of distributed PV continues to accelerate. The installed capacity of distributed PV in three provinces of Zhejiang, Shandong and Anhui accounts for 45.7% of the national total.

The reason for the explosive growth of the photovoltaic market is partly because the National Energy Administration issued the Guiding Opinions on the Implementation of the 13th Five-year Plan for Renewable Energy Development in 2017, which has played a positive role in promoting the normative development of the PV industry.
