Maximum cruising range up to 600 km

“The cruising range of electric vehicles is almost the same as that of fuel vehicles.” On the 10th, CPPCC National Committee member Zeng Junmin said, “From the perspective of use, there is no difference between electric vehicles and fuel vehicles in the future. Technology is no longer a problem. The difficulty in market promotion lies in price."

Zeng Junmin disclosed that they had initiated the “Development of a New Generation of Lithium-ion Power Battery Industrialization Technology” project to develop high-energy-density power batteries. The longest battery life has reached 600 kilometers, and it will increase in the future. In the fast charge technology, it has been achieved charging for 30 minutes and 500 kilometers.

Battery costs are still high

“At present, the biggest problem facing electric car promotion is price.” Zeng Yumin bluntly stated that as the heart of new energy vehicles, the cost of power batteries accounts for 1/3 to 1/2 of the total vehicle cost. As cobalt, lithium and other raw materials prices, and there is no alternative materials, the battery cost remains high. He hoped that the country could raise the fuel tax to subsidize the development of new energy vehicles.

Zhang Xinghai said that their smart electric vehicles will be released this month, and batteries can be independently developed and produced. The cruising range of the vehicle can reach 500 kilometers, and the acceleration performance can reach 4 to 6 seconds. In 15 minutes, it can charge 70% to 80%. However, he also admitted that battery cost is still the biggest problem at present.

Popularization of new energy vehicles still needs to open up industry pain points

In this regard, he suggested that the state should do a good job in the top-level design of charging facilities, balance the construction of charging facilities; designated charging facilities to build a centralized management unit, to achieve multi-cooperation between power, piles, and vehicles to form a joint force to promote industrial development; build a unified national charging facility software Platform, unified price and settlement platform to improve the environment for the use of new energy vehicles. At the same time, it promotes the establishment of a viable recovery system that can be monitored throughout the power battery and explores the step-by-step utilization technology of power batteries and more efficient and clean dismantling and recovery technologies to avoid “secondary pollution”.

Zeng Qinghong, deputy to the National People’s Congress, also admitted that at present, there are still many problems to be solved in the development of new energy vehicles. “It is recommended to take a step-by-step approach. Hybrid vehicles, plug-in hybrid vehicles, and pure electric vehicles can coexist, which is more in line with China. Energy structure and actual conditions."
