New energy vehicles are now rapidly developing with the support of the state and the government. More and more people are buying new energy vehicles. Charging piles are an important infrastructure for new energy vehicles. As a result, they have developed rapidly. Currently, China's charging infrastructure is public. The number of charging facilities is the highest in the world. But do you know what charging pile is? Do you understand it? The electric car resource network has organized some related knowledge of charging piles, and today we have come to understand it with Xiaobian.
What is a charging pile?
Charging piles, as the name suggests, are used to charge our electric vehicles. Its role is like fueling stations in fueling stations for fuel vehicles. The charging pile can be fixed on the ground or fixed on the wall, installed in major public spaces, residential quarters, and charging stations, and then charge various models of electric vehicles according to different voltage levels. People can use a special charge card to swipe the card on the human-computer interaction interface provided by the charging pile to perform the corresponding charging method, charging time, cost data printing, etc. The charging pile display can display the charging amount, cost, charging time, etc. data.
Currently, there are two types of charging poles commonly available in the market. One is a DC charging pole and the other is an AC charging pole.
DC charging pile: The DC charging pile is fixedly installed in some public places outside the electric vehicle, such as residential quarters, residential parking lots, commercial areas, service areas, outdoor parking lots, electric vehicle charging stations and other places. It is a charging device that provides DC power to non-vehicle electric vehicle batteries by accessing the public power grid. Because the DC charging pile can directly charge the battery of the electric vehicle, the three-phase four-wire system or the three-phase three-wire system is generally used for power supply, and the output voltage and current can be adjusted in a wide range, so that the electric vehicle can be quickly charged, and the DC charging pile can therefore be used. It is called fast charging. Due to the large output power of DC charging piles, the general specifications are 30kW, 60kW, 80kW, 120kW, 150kW, and 180kW.
AC charging pile: The AC charging pile is also fixed in some public places outside the electric vehicle, providing a controlled one-way AC power supply or three-phase AC power supply device for the on-board charger of the electric vehicle. It should be noted that the AC charging station itself does not have a charging function. It merely provides power output. Only by connecting the on-board charger of the electric vehicle can the battery of the electric vehicle be charged. Since the power of the electric vehicle-mounted vehicle charger is generally relatively small, the AC charging pile cannot be quickly charged, and the AC charging pile is also referred to as slow charging. The output power of AC charging piles will not be very large, typically 3.5 kW, 7 kW, 15 kW, etc.
