Global PV installed capacity will bottom out in 2019
In recent years, with the global energy shortage and environmental protection issues becoming increasingly prominent, renewable energy has become the future trend of development. Due to its clean, safe and efficient characteristics, photovoltaic power generation has gradually become a key development industry in the world. At the recent seminar organized by the China Photovoltaic Industry Association, a photovoltaic research institute predicts that the global installed capacity of photovoltaics is expected to reach 112 GW in 2019, an increase of 7.7%, once again hitting a record high.
2018 is the first year of structural adjustment of the photovoltaic industry, and the domestic policy orientation is adjusted from heavy scale to heavy quality. According to the analysis data of relevant institutions, since the implementation of the “531” PV New Deal, the growth rate of China's PV installed capacity has declined. It is estimated that the installed capacity of PV in 2018 will be about 88 GW.
However, in the view of Gao Jifan, chairman of Trina Solar Group, last year's "531 New Deal" had an impact on the market, but the demand from overseas markets strengthened. It is expected that the overall situation of China's PV market will improve in 2019. Enterprises with strong international market layout and strong innovation ability are less affected in this year's development and can even seize some new opportunities.
